Bottom-quark mass from finite energy QCD sum rules
نویسندگان
چکیده
Finite energy QCD sum rules involving both inverse and positive moment integration kernels are employed to determine the bottom quark mass. The result obtained in the MS scheme at a reference scale of 10GeV is mb(10GeV) = 3623(9)MeV. This value translates into a scale invariant mass mb(mb) = 4171(9)MeV. This result has the lowest total uncertainty of any method, and is less sensitive to a number of systematic uncertainties that affect other QCD sum rule determinations.

متن کاملBottom Quark Mass and QCD Duality
The mass of the bottom quark is analyzed in the context of QCD finite energy sum rules. In contrast to the conventional approach, we use a large momentum expansion of the QCD correlator including terms to order αs(m 2 b/q ) with the upsilon resonances from ee annihilation data as main input. A stable result mb(mb) = (4.19 ± 0.05) GeV for the bottom quark mass is obtained. This result agrees wit...
متن کاملBottom quark mass from QCD sum rules for the Υ system
* The talk presents an update of the bottom quark mass determination from QCD moment sum rules for the Υ system by the authors [1]. Employing the M S scheme, we find m b (m b) = 4.19 ± 0.06 GeV. The differences to our previous analysis will be discussed and we comment on the determination of the pole mass for the bottom quark.
متن کاملDetermination of the temperature dependence of the up- down-quark mass in QCD
The temperature dependence of the sum of the QCD upand down-quark masses, (mu +md) and the pion decay constant, fπ , are determined from two thermal finite energy QCD sum rules for the pseudoscalar-current correlator. This quark-mass remains mostly constant for temperatures well below the critical temperature for deconfinement/chiral-symmetry restoration. As this critical temperature is approac...
